The latest episode of The 1% Club raised eyebrows among viewers, with many stating that the questions were on the “easier” side.
Host Lee Mack returned to the helm on Tuesday night (December 10) for a gripping episode, as a new batch of 100 contestants battled to be the last one standing and tackle the tricky 1% question.
As the stakes of the ITV quiz rose with each challenging round, the audience at home joined in and tested their mettle against the contestants.
However, there was a growing feeling that the evening’s questions were perhaps a bit too simple for the studio participants.
A slew of viewers flocked to what was once known as Twitter and expressed their skepticism. An alarmed member of the public commented: “These questions feel suspiciously easy… are we going to be battered with some terrible final questions, or have I just been lucky with the way I think?”
Another viewer questioned his own intellect, saying: “Either these questions are getting easier, or I’m getting smarter, as I’m still at the 15% question and that hasn’t happened in a long time!”
Another fan commented on their unexpected winning streak: “Either I’m a freaking genius, or these questions are way too easy…”
Meanwhile, another audience member mused: “I just thought this week’s episodes aren’t a tough ask at all because I can see the increase in toughness between 90 and 60 both so easily,” Lancs Live reports.
Viewers’ criticisms didn’t end with the general rounds; Concerns also poured in about the ultimate 1% question. With eight competitors left in the fray, host Lee Mack presented the final challenge, asking, “What word is represented by this image?”
The number eight in a cube flashed on the screen, stunning the participants. They missed the answer ‘incubate’, and no player guessed correctly.
Viewers quickly took to social media to have their say, with one commenting on X: “Definitely not one of the toughest shows tonight.”
Another criticized: “If you have so many people at the end it means the questions are too easy, I’m afraid.”
Still, there was empathy for the finalists who missed out on the jackpot. One sympathetic viewer wrote: “That last question from #The1PercentClub was unfair!! It wasn’t even drawn as a cube, it looked like a mirror!! Those guys got robbed!”
Echoing the sentiment, someone else wrote: “Never seen many answering the 1 percent question before, and all men and all wrong. Difficult, they couldn’t even tell what the thing behind the 8 was supposed to be.”
The 1% Club is available to watch on ITV X.
